Springer motor and mount
« on: November 04, 2018, 05:43:36 pm »

what would be a good motor and mount combo for the Springer Tug.
I was going to use a brushed motor with 7.2v battery ...
Thanks

Yep, that's what most people use.
A slow revving 5 pole, 550 is a good choice

For the motor mount I use a piece of aluminum "El," cut from a 3' length from the hardware store.  And a 550 motor running on 6 VDC SLA batteries.

Hi Gardener, try Anglia Models in Gorleston. They sell some very well engineered motor mounts in heavy gauge aluminium for about a fiver. They also do all the other bits for Springer build.  Two SLA batteries  from Component Shop are used as ballast as well as power source. Have you plodded through the Springer section on Mayhem ?  Have you got theme in mind for superstructure? Keep it light. BTW  pictures...its a rule. <*<
