Splendid woodwork Greg
[the owner will be well pleased] .....just a few questions
1. If the butt joint in the 2nd plank down is as shown, did you need to press a former against both halves to gain the set? as I cannot see any reinforcement timber plank sections on the inside surfaces of the planking [or is it below the Knee of the Seat?]
2. Was the length of planks on the originals simply dictated by the tree timber available?..
eg., was a nominal 20' set as the maximum length for all timbers & dependent on the timbers available from the Mill at the time?
3. So I think I see only the top plank and the second plank with butt joints .......so all of the planks below are without joints?
4. What brand/type of varnish did you choose?..........the internal shade & degree of crispness & brightness looks very realistic
[intentionally did not use the word gloss]
5. Will the externals have the same finish?
