Pity the sound recording of the on board footage was so bad, they seem to have a duff microphone. Occasionally it was so obviously bad that they resorted to off screen commentary and sub-titles . The water deluging through the deckhead of the high voltage dis compartment  was met with aplomb, would have freaked me.

Last night they got to the point where the misaligned  propellor blade is making it's  presence  known.

Ah, good. I was wondering how I missed the water pouring in! I did wonder what happened about the propulsion failure while transiting the Bosphorus. No mention of that after the bit where the CO put the pilot in his place. Maybe in episode 2?

I wodered about the dodgy prop, sounds like a big deal to me.  I rather suspect the Pilot was not keen on having a lady in charge?  For me I always welcome a lady Pilot (flying) as she has had to work a bit harder than the blokes in the same job.

But I want to know what Baldrick was watching. sounds a bit more dramatic!

Part of the ongoing problem by the sound of it - but that should all be fixed when Cammel Lairds have finished with them in two or three years time.

That pilot the way he strode into the bridge you would have thought that he was in command, soon put in his place though, he seemed to forget that pilots are there to advise and are not in command. He probably thought that as it was a female in command that he could walk all over her - his expression said everthing.

As for muffled sound on the bridge, it was probably intentionally so. What is said on the bridge stays on the bridge.

I think you will find the wrong ship was in reference to the program on the previous night relating to HMS Queen Elizabeth  :-))

That pilot didn't reckon on a wee lass from the central belt of Glasgow , she wouldn't stand for any of his poop on HER ship lol

Just watched it on-line.... pleasantly surprised  how much I enjoyed it!
Didn't feel it was over 'dumbed down' at all.  :-)

1. Super impressed Royal Navy has a senior Female Captain!
(Wouldn't want to be called up to her office or get into a drinking match with her!)   :o

2. Is the Black Sea 'open waters', i.e. non territorial?

3. Does the '3 mile limit' still ally anywhere?

International waters start 12nm off the coast Martin , the 3nm limit was a fishing limit.
You can only go inside the 12nm line with the permission of the state involved or you can get shot at as the Ukraine boats just found out...

Special conditions attach to navigation rights in the Kerch Strait. Details here:
https://voelkerrechtsblog.org/ukraine-v-russia-passage-through-kerch-strait-and-the-sea-of-azov-2/
Plus of course both sides were under the control of Ukraine before Russia invaded the Crimea.

I noticed they never mentioned how they fixed it, was it a circuit breaker / pc / power control problem, or a physical mechanical one, and how they sorted it out - pulled into port.

Was not too impressed with a couple of statements in it, 'we have the best ship of this type in the world' - yet it has a lot of breakdowns i.e. the prop stopping, the recent engine issues etc., and the fact that we are maxed out with crew, where some were consigned to cots and yet in the scene where the youngest member of the crew was showing the camera around he showed empty bunks and the very limited space he has in his bunk, those in cots obviously higher ranked personnel who don't want to bunk with those lower than them - an outdated concept when on a major deployment, personally I would have thought the designers would have altered the bunk problem with a new class of ship to give better conditions, I believe in a previous program when they discussed the new class (may have been on quest) they said the corridors were bigger - but may be wrong about the ship - could have been another navies.

It wasn't fully explained why (or I missed it) but they said at the start that the normal crew was about 150 which had been increased to 240? or 280? for this deployment. This is not unusual of course if you have the Commodore's Staff on board. During my time on the Ark we often had the Admirals Staff on board, and that was on a ship that was pretty cramped to start with.

Next episode Dunny gets buzzed by a swarm of Rusky Fencer and Flanker jets.  Interested to see if they get the Flit spray out or turn up the wick on the radar to cook their electricals .

apparently the old bedstead radars fitted on the T42s originally had the ability if turned all the way to maximum power
to fry the electronics on aircraft.
