Stalled a bit with the winch so had a look at the mooring rope storage reels.
These are meant to be two individual units but I though better to make it one unit with independent reels.

Stern winch complete but for dummy electric motor. Painting at such low temperatures presents its problems but I managed.

I don't think Martin looks in too often not that I want the spotlight! far from it. However we are still stuck in dicks days of 30 min editing hence I keep my posts small now.
I can edit indefinitely on the Facebook groups and post dozens of pictures to numerous groups in only minutes.

Opps, I see what you mean now Andy sorry yes with you now still looks a cracker if only I can get my hands to work again at least we think we know the problem now will know more end of Jan so watching your build is one of my pleasures at the moment sod,s law off work another six weeks but cant really do any modelling have tried to to link you but some how cant.

I agonised over this most of the day

it is what it is

Once lathered in paint it'll do.

My paint supplier showed no stock so I emailed to ask if they would be restocking Amazon.
In a panic I googled for an alternative and I found RAL 6001 is also John Deere green.

So I found 3 tins delivered at 25 slivs..... minutes before reply from monstercolor that they will restock soon

The rest of the parts like motor and drum ends are coming from a friend in a week or so.
I'm again quite pleased with how this turned out in plastic. Once painted no one would know any different and it is much lighter than metal.

Having turned some 5mm wide pulleys from brass first the chain stops are under way.
These are fixed to the deck with a 2mm machine screw from beneath.

A bit more progress.
I'm not sure what goes on the end of the windy shaft but I'm assuming something that engages into a chain link to take up the tiny amount of slack before hanging the chain on a turnbuckle from to gooseneck jobby
