Adding contrasting paint makes a big difference. Eventually almost all birds I view surfaces are red lead

Lifering holder finish painted. I have 7 more to make and I'm hoping I can come up with an easier process. The 3D printed rings are very nice

Tomorrow I hope to finish the funnels

This morning I have made the forward man hole.

The revised smaller motors from CMB. Now there's just the rotational drive to magic up.

I’ve just bought 4 10” wheels to convert the build stand into transport

If you pop in to a Shop that does repairs to wheel Chairs, they are usually over run with wheels and most are happy to get rid of some.

I cannot visualise a wheelchair that has these wheels. I’m happy with £30 delivered without having to drive around during lockdown  :-))  thanks

Anyone who's followed and studied the Arctic may have noticed that the railings edging the deck wings are different. I'm simulating this with these similar height caldercraft stanchions. These will be painted white and threaded with silver thread in the final fitment after the roof is painted red lead.

Hi, When I made a trolley I went to the local golf course and saw the PRO. Ended up with wide tyred wheels off golf carts. Spreads the load, nemesis

Yesterday I made the supports for the extension ladder storage. 2mm servo rods covered with square styrene. They go right through the timber that supports the crane deck so very solid.

Some more bits done. The Davit is now just awaiting a suitable thread for the cable. I'm now going to focus on the remainder of the steel stowage lockers on the crane deck.

I've stayed on course today and began with the welding equipment tool chest.

Next I made the electrical distribution boxes, fitted next to the door. There is a large bank of batteries feeding these. Not being familiar with ships electrics I don't know if this is a straight DC system or inverted to AC but it matters not.

Then this box adjacent the RIB. I'm assuming life jacket storage
This has a complicated hinge set up to prevent the lid going over the top.
Not sure why I bothered with such detail, perhaps the challenge? but it worked out OK

This morning I've made the platform for the wheelie bin storage. I don't have a good picture of the structure beneath so I don't know what to make of it yet.

I follow your build with awe, and with a big smile on my face  :}
It is so enjoyable to see how _you_ do what you _want_. (I just do, what I can...

I can almost imagine me walking the stairs and across the deck of your build.
I understand you actually tow stuff with your tugs?

Do you airbrush the fittings?

Thank you Hande  :}

I do tow yes. I would say I understand it but I'm still very much a novice.

All of my painting is rattle cans. Some of which are Tamiya and some automotive.

I've just been looking at my Portgarth and she now doesn't seem as sparkly in the presence of the big boy  {-)

I'm truly converted to styrene for scratch building. I do love the wooden kits and will continue to knock one out every Summer as a welcome break but all future scratch building will be the white sheets.

I decided to keep this simple as from a distance the only thing that stands out are the bins and not what they're sat on  {-)

Tamiya FINE white primer. Each bin locates with a 2mm machine screw and then the whole assembly is held to the deck by 2 screws from below. This can all be painted as a separate item and fitted on final build up.
