I'm back on the build now the weather is more consistent and dry.
The distraction of the Hoga build was a welcome break and I saved "boat loads" of time by making the paint job simple  {-)
Hoga and out.

This is the finished deck colour applied only 10 mins ago. Red primer immediately followed with matt lacquer.

I thought about this right from the onset and felt it was beyond me but today I thought more about it.

The actual emblem stands off the funnel side so these parts in progress will be mounted on 1mm stainless steel rods.

First I will place the parts and drill the same holes through them into the funnel. Then the rods can be fitted to the parts and flushed off with the face before painting.

Starboard done bar for paint.
A worthwhile day as I think the company logos make a huge difference. Hopefully if the weather keeps improving there'll be green on the hull when it arrives.

Yes full time job Martin  :-))

I'm thinking I do not want to glue these in place as if they are ever damaged it would be too difficult to make good.

All the stainless steel rods are much longer than needed deliberately. I have in stock some minute O rings so I'm going to put 3 or 4 on each pin as spacers and push them in evenly.

EDIT  Good idea Andy  :-))  that works .... pictures

Here is the correction. Ignore the logo and compare the wheelhouse door before and after

That's what happens when you stay off the drink.

....you start noticing and worrying about your mistakes LoL!

Obvious now you say but didn't look too bad before.  Looks good. I'd probably break something on the mast or an exhaust stack than knock the logo.

That blue is Tamiya French Blue, the same I used on my Riva Aquarama that would not set fully even though on Tamiya primer.

With that very even, smooth finish you've obtained on the Hull of this model, I'm wondering how you achieve this. Is it Milliput putty that you use and how many times do you go over the Hull painting and filling in blemishes?
I'm on my third fill and paint cycle but still seeing some unevenness. I am using P38. I'm not looking for perfection as my fibre glassing stage was far from smooth!
Just wondered how much time you spent on your Hull which did look very professional.

Thank you,
Nordlys

I didn't do anything that was planned today, mother needed help which cancelled any possibility of sailing. So I've just got some fresh primer on to end the day. A bit more fettling and I can lacquer inboard surfaces and start working towards the green

If you see the early pages in the blog the hull is supplied very smooth to start with.
