Today is the last day for a while that has the potential to get warm enough for top coat.

So a bit more fettling was done yesterday and today the hull is elevated on an old table so I can get the spray can low enough.
In use is the Tamiya masking tape with skirt.

Sun is forecast most of this afternoon and I have a bit of a Sun trap here so the matt lacquer will go on today.

After the cold spell passes she'll be masked up for the RAL6001 gloss.

It is now seriously hot out on my deck so I'll be lacquering shortly.

This is the finish that will be throughout.

Back in doors. I got a good 3 hrs of truly hot Sun.

I decided to get the deck level cabin roof painted despite some overspray. It is far easier to mask off the deck/roof than the side walls so from here on is a breeze.
Soon sort this out to the finish line.

Parts being fitted from here onwards won't be coming back off.

I have come to a decision that the Stevn's is going to have to live outside.
The hull weight is manageable in a straight line on flat ground but negotiating its length and width through the twists and turns of stairs and four doorways without hitting anything is far too strenuous on the back.  :((

This makes complete sense as it frees up building space too.

Doing what I can but its going to be some time before its warm enough for painting major parts.
So I might start on the non working mast lighting.

Waiting their turn

Cap Maquettes lights have great detail but very pricey and unpainted.

So today I have started the lighting. Don't get any ideas about them working!

If I make a mistake please tell me.

For the cabin aft I chose two double height 135 degree white lights

One painted

For the mast front centre line are three double height 225 degree white.
Bottom one pictured.

For the mast port and starboard are single height 360 degree red white red top to bottom.

Top two Port side shown here.

The mast head I'm not sure about? 360 white single or double height??

Towing light I'm not sure about, yellow? and where?

OK the lads on facebook model tug group have clarified the lighting for me.

The one on the aft roof is the towing light and would be yellow when towing. This sits above the stern light.

The one on top of the mast 360 degree white is the mooring light.

I always thought mast head meant the top of the mast but its the front. So my three white lights are all masthead lights but how many are lit depends on the length of the tow and whether towing or not towing.

Sorry I have to keep making new posts but editing runs out far too soon.

Now all three masthead lights fitted and the remaining six windows. I just need a single 360 mooring light for the top.

and of course the stair railings

So most of the work now is painting the lower superstructure to allow further assembly.

Today I masked up the lower cabin roof to re apply the white primer. This is now ready for a good day to apply gloss white. I’ve fitted a tube at the front to insert a screwdriver shaft to aid lifting the superstructure on and off as there will be nothing to get a hold of.
So far the whole superstructure will not register on the scales so I estimate about 4kg just now. I anticipated 5kg anyway which is nothing on a 34kg boat so stability will be solid.

Thank you Mike  :}

Last night I looked at how many small parts there are still to fabricate and there's a lot yet  %%

Just one step at a time and here is yet another nearly ticked off.

The flag staff

Edit
A bit more

At this time of her life she flew the Danish flag from this but also on the starboard aerial mast support arm would fly the flag of where she was working. I've seen the Union Jack the French and German tricolours. I've not found a good image of the Port side flag yet but it is light blue and I'm assuming the house flag, anyone got an image?

Looks great! I take it this is all scratch built apart from the hull?

If you would forgive this stupid question, what do you use for the “aerials” on the last photo?

Thanks
Yes apart from bits that can be bought it’s scratch built.
I use carbon rod for aerials. If you put it in a battery drill you can taper it with abrasive.

Thanks. Having not been through all the pages on this thread I hadn’t appreciated the sheer volume of scratch built elements to it. Just had a look at the page on the wheelie bins stowage for example. Fills me with awe.

Thank you me too  %%
I never thought my winches would turn out as well, nearly everything was a new experience.
Wheelie bins still available on eBay but needs a lot of work to hide the 3D printing lines. Slot car trackside accessories

This morning I was drawn back to the RIB
I made a kort for the outboard that a friend made for me and continued detailing. I don't know how far I will go with this yet

Sometimes it's worth a couple of steps back. I spotted I had some D section in stock.
