Hi, just to say I think you are bang-on with the cyano for sticking the styrene strips on, when I do that on GRP substrate with zap cyano for sure, it tends to tear the GRP / gel coat as much as the plastic part afterwards. I'm only just posting a slight warning because I see from the characteristic paint on the ends of spare strips in your pics (apart from the profile, which is characteristic to me also) those are perhaps Maquette strips rather than the likes of Evergreen / Slaters etc? I had an ongoing experience through this year with a not cheap batch of Maquette polystyrene profiles and strips which just would not weld to any other polystyrene like it should with Plastic Weld, EMA or Tamiya solvent . Am just saying as a heads-up as it was very frustrating things coming apart afterwards and one model keeps cracking ever since. Try it yourself on any styrene-styrene materials with Maquette profiles to join just to be sure, they tend to look OK if the joint is made, but might part after a week or so. Just saying to test because it's not worth the hassle I've had with it! Strangely, it's bonded OK elsewhere since but no rhyme nor reason, just common to Maquette profiles and nnyoyingly but beeficially, their material is much stiffer and harder than most other polystyrene profiles or strips, but more malleable in some respects and easier to sculpt sometimes without cracking!
