From yesterday

Today windows removed.

Final coat of white to upper two levels. Two days minimum drying before masking off for tread surfaces in red primer and matt lacquer. Then windows back in and wheelhouse interior detailing.

Just before today's light faded I painted the modified guard rails (Brass) in Tamiya grey Fine primer/Halfords red primer/ and Halfords matt lacquer.
The bollards I decided not to change to be more accurate as they look ok and there are so many nothing like attributes that it matters not. So I finished them in John Deere green.

I decided on the same matt green for the wheelhouse floor as used in Portgarth (XF-71). Still undecided on furniture.

Some reassembly done.  More pictures in the gallery

Steady on Andy - you're in danger of actually finishing this one!  %%

Great work as always.  I even joined the tug group so I could see the full works of your build.  Most enjoyable.

Thanks Greg  {-)

Still a very lot to do but I am further than anticipated. Today I've been looking at signalling and navigation lighting (NON working)

The best are by CAP Maquettes but they know how to charge! so high priced they will go out of production I predict.
Would easily cost £50 for less than 15 pieces of coloured resin and they still need painting. Such a shame but they should look at selling by the packet rather than one at a time.

So these are still my biggest hurdle as I won't pay that sort of money. I expect the French find them equally as overpriced.

Today I had a huge bumble bee in the garden and this evening the blackbirds are singing so painting weather is approaching  :-)

Major items complete include propulsion.
All superstructure.
All companionways.
All windows and frames.
All railings.
Most of the mast.
All deck fittings.
and more

P.S. I post to about 5 or 6 Facebook groups around the world at different times but the Tug group is the main focal point

It's been a while it seems but I've had no pictures to post.
I had/am having a hard time masking up and getting it right so some repainting still to do, just the front faces of the cabin to re coat in white. The pictures don't show like it needs doing but it does.
I've ordered a load of Tamiya masking products from Wonderland models in Edinburgh. They posted my order within an hour  :-))
Tamiya are now doing a tape with a plastic sheet/skirt attached, a choice of 150mm and 550mm  8)

Anyway the windows are back in the wheelhouse

With all due respect to the loss of dear friends of late I'm sure they would not want us to break from our work.

The weather is so persistently cold that its difficult to achieve any major steps so I look to what is possible and probably delve into detail I may otherwise have swerved.

Fire extinguishers from my stock but I think were from Battlecrafts
The stand /cradle is only primered and made from scratch.

A chunk of styrene and a sticker, what could be simpler?

I'm yearning for final fit of railings but still too much to do first.

R.I.P. DaveM won't be forgotten.

I’ll say thank you now Bill  :-)
It may be a while before I have any progress to show.
Thank you

Today went very differently as the weather is too cold to do the work planned in our Garden with wood treatments requiring minimum 10C.

So a little progress on the build
I had to finally decide on colours or I will simply stand still, so these are it. I changed to a standing figure in the wheelhouse as the Britains seated figures are just too small despite claiming 1:32

Never hurts to have a bit of “paint solvent” nearby. O0

A few years ago on a trip that included Bruge, It was recommended that I try Leffe Blonde. Did so and now drink it as a special beer since it is readily available in the States. :-))

Good taste  :-))  that is actually what was in the glass followed by a Leffe Brune  :-)

Edit
I'm blessed with a comfy converted bedroom that is now my workshop. I have TV & Internet. I spend evenings up here while wifey watches her American dramas (very good they are but I don't want to get hooked) So I watch a bit of Telly with a beer and mull over what to do tomorrow.

Did you visit the BEER WALL ?

I've decided to stop there with the interior for now at least. I plan to make a plausible autonomous pair of fire monitors next.

I think Martin needs to have a hard look at Andy and Brian builds and move them both into the Master Class as theses two are Masters to me. :-))

Kind words from you both  :-)  I honestly did not know any of this would look how it does when I started. It's just lots of small steps that went well for me with very few disappointments. I'd rather not be regarded as a master class as that raises expectations  {-)
