COR Dave she's bigger than i thought for a 1/96 scale as a freind had up my norwich  pond a type 42 batch 2 in 1/96 scale an that was quite a small model an not very good sea keepin qaulities an rolled about terrible in a little brezze
but yours you should not have any probs as she is quite beamy  :-)) a real beauty :-))

Thanks Chris, :-))

I have a Type 42 Batch 2 Destroyer and I find she sails very well with scale amount of roll when making high speed turns.

When I worked on my works marine terminal which is on the Solent , I had the chance to sail it off the terminal and she Handel the sea well.
But as with all my warship models I work hard at keeping the top weight LIGHT.

YEA Dave i always try an watch top wheight as it can be a killer an make the model roll  as a few yrs ago a chap turned up at norwich pond with about a 6ft long destoyer an he put it on the water an sailed it out to the centre of the pond an then treid to turn to strb an the ship just rolled over an sunk only thing left was the bow stickin up out of the water as thats where a lot of air get trapped an he just went into the pond an reteived it an went never saw him again what a pity as it looked a nice model  <:(

An for my first model ship back in the early eighties i bought a grp hull of a
type 21 frigate hms amazon in 1/64th scale from hydrafibre an that was the most unstable model i ever had took me ages of testin her up the pond before she would actully sail but when she did she looked nice  :-))

Given the way warships have increased in size and scope, todays destroyers are more like light cruisers especially in armament, so the impressive size reflects this increase.

That hangar assembly is beautiful Chris! I can see why you are concerned about internal space with all that lovely detail.

Supoib work sir.
