Wow, your plasticard workmanship is stunning. When I first glimpsed the pictures I thought it was a 3D printed item but how wrong was I! Beautiful sharp edges and very clean work. Keep up the excellent work. :-))

Any major alterations are cheek clampy but also exciting to do and finally, it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling when done. I always agonise over whether the previous owner would be grumpy over converting their model, but I work on the principle that it has been passed into your hands and you are responsible for renovating and updating. We all aspire to work as good as some others and sometimes it takes another person to realise that aspiration.

She's looking good Bob  :-))

Weekends work, stripped the flight deck, filled all the LED holes, marked and drilled new holes for LED. Masked the deck for painting, quite pleased with the result.  Next task is to wire in the lights.  This all based on a new plan that was the final drawing before acceptance.  Only nine landing lights required and all in a straight line.

Thank you for your service sir as well as your partner.  I served with the US Navy as a Second Class Petty Officer Radioman, Midway Island, Vietnam, finished with the USS Ranger CVA-61 (now scrapped, rest her soul).  Build on... you are doing fine work.  Dennis

The power house installed and runs as sweet as you could wish for, and also the rather nice name plate.  If anyone would like this style of nameplate google "Foreverjack"and they are in there.

The bridge is nice. I like the multi view windows as well as the radar dome. It looks so big, I wonder if the designers borrowed St. Pauls!

Re the green screens, I reckon as it was glass they either binned them or perhaps sold the glass as scrap for reuse in the glass industry. Probably the former given the era we are talking about.

A few images to show her current state, before an enforced break of two months (allegedly) to keep my publisher happy, sure  I will sneak bits in
Started to fit the bridge wipers, fiddly job, will hope to get catapult tracks fitted thought this week.

On deck we have the COD Gannet from HMS Hermes on the Starboard cat and a Phantom on the port cat. other aircraft are parked awaiting their turn, first of the crew members can be seen in front of the island, only about 35 to paint.  steering servo and linkages are in and work, despite the angled outer rudders, now awaiting a replacement prop from Cornwall models. showing unable to manoeuvre lights due to flying stations, island floodlights on as are deck landing lights and hangar.
