HI Bob love your utube vids that rudder layout looks the bees knees  :-)) an works very well indeed an I see you have fitted led 's lights in the hangars  :-)) that's what I did on my Nimitz an it makes the ship look more realistic. An I just cant understand why you don't like split hulls Bob as mine is very simple 4 bolts fitted in hull joint an 4 butterfly nuts to join her up an electric plugs that when you join the hulls togeather the E /PLUGS just slip into one another  an it makes the model lighter to lift but that's just me
all best chris

Just me Chris, as I said used it for HMS Victorious which is a lot bigger than CVA, but it just is not my preferred solution.  Yes lots of lovely lights fitted, used lots on Tiger as well for white light and red action lights or simply change by flick of a switch.

Another small video showing a working anchor winch, ok its not protypical in speed but near enough, for showing off at shows.  The other important thing (to me) is it cost £5 compared to the £100+ being asked for the ready made one.

One of my pet hates now fitted, just needs bit cleaning up then painting, Bilge Keels arggghhh
Of note she now has the correct grey paint on her, BSC 381 light weather works grey.
If the weather holds out this weekend she may move from slipway to the ballast basin for final ballasting, hopefully this time with no major leaks as happen last time %%

I’ve got some of those to do soon on Albatross. Colin-d showed me a better way whilst I was displaying at Deans Marine Open weekend. I’ll try to photograph it as I go along showing the methodology for future reference. My last bilge keel was on Invincible and it was a right pig to get right. Hopefully the next one will be easier. :-))

At last CVA-01 got her bottom wet, floats great and very stable, couple of annoying small leaks from port shaft and center rudder post, easy fix though

Magnificent Bob,

I’ll write up a post with my Albatross build as I go along showing Colin’s method- it looked simple enough and very effective- hopefully I’ll do it justice!

Keep up the good job  :-))

Todays work, deck landing light system, it can move forward and back, up and down and traverse, all to obtain correct setting. Quite pleased with it..

Damm you sussed me out :} , yes it will be able to be lit, although this is the trial and fit version, designed to get me making and prove it will work.  Will have red, green and amber lights and bit more detailing, now working on the sponson and how to fit it, interestingly it is the only sponson she would have had.

Latest work on Lizzie, No its not a gun turret {-) it is the sponson that will be the base for the light landing system posted earlier.  It is the only sponson she was designed with as the aim was to keep her smooth and clean to aid in the event of NBC attack.  The two rods fit into the tubes in the hull and are then pushed  home, giving a firm and secure mounting that is easy to remove for transport..

I was looking forward to all the super detailed doo dads hanging off the side of the ship, looks like that's not going to be a thing then?! Curse that NBC stuff >>:-(
