Channel hopping through my hundreds of Virgin Media channels recently I have watched some weird stuff . Think I know all of salvage hunters and Drew Pritchard by heart know , seen all of his episodes on umpteen repeats. Same goes for wheeler dealers, they seem to turn up on various channels .  Anything to get away from the non stop BBC and ITV blanket coverage.

I have a foot infection. Phoned my local practice at about 10 o'clock. Doctor rang back at 1pm. Quick discussion and an appointment for 3.50 pm that day. I've never got an appointment so quick before, and oh boy the system works!

I had a good experience too
I was fourth in the phone queue at 8 a.m yesterday and answered fairly quickly 5mins ?
A doctor then phoned me only about 20 mins later and he agreed with my own diagnosis.
A prescription for antivirals was raised for collection at my designated chemist.
Then the fun began as I arrived at the chemist to find a one in one out queue in operation
75 mins later came my turn only to find the prescription was not there. Half an hour later of me playing Sherlock Holmes finally secured my meds.
I now expect at least four weeks before I can expect to be back on the bright side and the current 7 days of taking the worlds largest tablets lol

Not generally known but you could be eligible for a jab for shingles if your 70 or over up to 80.  My wife only found out that after she got it (the shingles that is)

Quote
You're eligible for the shingles vaccine if you're aged 70 or 78 years old.In addition, anyone who was previously eligible (born on or after 2 September 1942) but missed out on their shingles vaccination remains eligible until their 80th birthday.

Pain control is very hit and miss
Iíve avoided anything as long as possible but had to give in today.
Paracetamol is very timid. My mother had Tramadol I donít want to follow suit

Nearly bed time now and all five jumbo tablets consumed. Iím on my second glass of delirium tremens and feel pretty good :-)

So very very glad I donít have to work but might have to bail out family given the current crisis

Thank you Bill
Getting the correct drugs quickly has paid dividends and the spots are beginning to fade.
The pain is almost entirely in the shoulder now but managing it ok

I think I've been very lucky getting the correct treatment so quickly. I think it's 12 days since it started and today I've only taken painkillers once at about 16:30. I'll take ibuprofen before bed but I'm confident I'll be off pills tomorrow.

Well ....I managed to get to no 93 Red + donation OK, then the prechecking for no 94 established a resting pulse of 48 BPM

........no good, >>:-(  they say I need 50>+ BPM

So have just met with my Dr, had an ECG, am wearing a Holter Monitor for the next 24 hours....then booked in for a cardiac stress test  {-)

The last time I heard of a colleague having a stress test resulted in him having a heart attack on the treadmill test machine.
A 50 year old, non smoker/tea total....represented Australia in an American exchange Baseball competition and was a weekly bicycle rider who participated in the annual Sydney to Wollongong Bike Marathon for the previous 13 years...[RIP Jim Handley]

So what chance have I got?  %)

I had a 24 hr. monitor a long time ago.   Nothing showed up until I took it off and was sitting in the specialists room.  He said "your having an attack" I nodded.   Atrial tachycardia. "Stop the coffee"  <:(

Hope all goes well for you.

When I retired 20+ years ago the retirement consultant said that the average life expectancy after retirement is 10 years.  :embarrassed:

Its when it straight lines you want to worry , last time they did me the pads fell off in the night.

On the subject of physiological deterioration has anyone else developed stiff fingers ?   Every morning when If I wake up the fingers of the right hand have locked and are painful to move. I know they have been in constant use since before WWII and have suffered trauma from hammers and sharp things along the way but even when I have eased them during the day they still hurt and make me clumsy.  Our registered GP is useless (Oh, I don't know what that is !)  wonder if any food supplements are likely to help.

Try magnesium tablets or powder.
