That literally sounds like overkill!

Most people worry about the readings going in the other direction. I wonder what caused it?

Over medication. Probably built up over several weeks un noticed. I've sacked the doctor and binned the Indapamide

I had similar i had myocarditus (inflammation of the muscle around the heart) straight into hospital and on all the normal medication for a heart attack, including the ones to reduce blood pressure. my normal blood pressure is quite low, i am used to getting woozy if i stand up too quick. well every time they took my blood pressure the machine gave an alarm, my blood pressure was down to 70/50 in resting state, and every time they came over and asked if i was feeling ok. As it hadnt been proved to be myocarditis they kept me on those drugs until i went home, in the end i stopped taking them so i could stand out of a chair without fainting.

Not suggesting as a general necessity, however if you are experiencing any irregularity in BP or pulse......these home monitors are as accurate as those used in Clinics and very inexpensive.....

I recently used my 9 year old unit [on the left] to monitor my resting pulse for my <50 bpm issue with the Red +  Blood Bank [together with a reduced Beta Blocker Atenolol]

The unit on the right is for my youngest daughter in Sydney who was diagnosed with an irregular HB during the delivery of my 9th Grandchild last week

Hi Derek, your post reminded me to take mine, thanks.  137 / 77 pulse 61.  We are not that far apart really!  I record the readings on a chart, free replacements with the BP monitor and take it with me when I visit my GP., saves a lot of time.
I weaned myself off BP tablets but I was persuaded to stay on Indapamide.
regards
Roy

Not on the indapamide anymore as doctor told me to come of them, though I now have to monitor my bp more closely as they are changing the doxazosin, Currently take 8mg twice a day of slow release, but due to shortages they are halving it and immediate release, though trying to get the appointment with them as requested is like finding hen teeth >>:-( Oh! and 2008 my bp was 236/180  {-)

Good to see our Members taking care of themselves  :-)) ....the cost is absolutely near nothing compared to any potential consequences.........

Here is my readings for tonight......my concern was keeping that resting pulse bpm to 50> for the Red +

I will have to monitor BP daily now despite advice against this
This morning as expected my BP was back up to the medication please level after a couple of days off.
So 140/91 early morning. took my original Lisinopril  O0

This evening with half a bottle of red it is 106/74, still good but a huge drop on one dose

BP update.
By monitoring twice a day I have found one 20mg tablet of Lisinopril is now lasting two days so I am going to start breaking them in half and spread them better daily.

If this continues I'll ask for 10mg tablets on repeat.
This morning 119/80

Hi Taranis I did much the same and am now free of one of the BP pills.  My reasoning was different however.  When I was first prescribed a BP pill, it was OK then I had to go back a month later and this time saw a different doctor, he did not check my blood pressure but simply doubled the dose to 40 mgrm pills.

For a week I slept 16 hours a day and I was in the middle of decorating the whole house.  I was like a zombie.  I booked another GP appointment and refused to see the dodgy doctor.  Explained the problem went on to a different pill and was OK.  I think I went on to a different pill as if the dose had been reduced again it would have been a criticism of the the doctor!
Knowing that I decided some time later to start weaning myself off the damn things.  Generally I am 135/75 which seems to suit me fine.  The dodgy doctor is still there and the only one you can easily get an appointment with, I wonder why?

When I last saw Howard before Christmas he was fine.

He will be sorely missed.

My good friend John died about this time last year we went back to 1945, we met in Sunday school, it turned out religion was an answer for my parents to get some peace and quiet on Sunday afternoons.

Well that is what I was led to believe!  But only the other day I wondered if it was just P & Q they were after?
Glad your mate went off with a bit of a flourish.

Cheers Roy it went well and brought old friends together. I met a man who was one of my gun crew detachment that I've not seen for over 40 yrs
This calls for a large dram of Lagavulin or maybe a Laphroaig. nemesis

We have a motorhome meet at Fraisthorpe on regatta field next month for 10 days "near Bridlington"
If this goes ahead with CoViD appreciation I hope to have the maiden sailing of the Boulogne in the sea. The high bow is built for hitting waves  O0
