I don’t have leather so the seats never feel that cold 👍

what way do you work in France? What is the equivalent of Road Tax.

Here they are just robbing bass drinkers! Taxed on your wage before you get it then taxed again on everything you buy with what’s left and then taxed even on what’s left when ya die!

Well overdue for MOT being revised in UK. Cars are not the same rot boxes they were last century.
My last Berlingo sailed through 6 MOT's before I traded it in for another

Going back to earlier posts about WWII I recently said to my mother that she'd never mentioned anything about her childhood at that time.
Apparently she and four sisters plus one brother were evacuated to a Turkey Farm and to this day she's always refused turkey at any time of year. As a 7 yr old and second eldest she became fond of the birds and it wasn't until Christmas approached that she realised the horror  <:(

On a visit to my mothers today to install a tumble dryer in her garage I came across this belt buckle that I gave her man friend back in 1984.
These were made by Celtic art for Lummus Crest the main contractor at F.E.P. Mossmorran to give to all 5,500 on site.
I was only 26yrs old and the youngest foreman on site. A very stressful 2yrs but the money was excellent.
Seems like only yesterday.

Is that the standard Laphroaig or the Quarter cask version or the versions that they seem to put out now and again. One can hope it is a cask strength one. One of the Islay classics. nemesis

Special occasion so I thought I'd look for a bottle of Lagavulin 16 only to find Amazon and others have shot up to circa £90 %%

Unbelievably Waitrose for the minute still at £49 which I already though was expensive but suddenly very reasonable  {-)

The daily swing in spirits prices is crazy so never buy without comparing

Lagavulin is my favourite next to Laphroaig, spent many a time in the snug at Lagavulin after the tour, my they did us proud that day. Busy working my way a bottle of Ardberg. Have a bottle of Coal Isla cask strength @61%, It cost  £30  then, it is now £95 so it unopened. nemesis

Anyone had dealings with Hastings Direct for their car insurance?
They rely heavily on "My Account" and an APP
Customer service is S H 1 T IMHO

From day one I have not been able to access "My Account" at least not for my current policy. Despite literally dozens of emails (each of which replied to every time by a different person) I still cannot access anything other that a policy I cancelled in 2019 when I traded my car in.

Now my renewal is approaching and they want my money their bottoms are twitching into gear and the renewal quote (after 20 mins on the phone) has been reduced inline with the current Meerkat quote with the same company and they've moved my case to the IT department.
They have 7 days to fix it or I leave to the next quote only 10p more.

Adding "retired" to your info does make a difference. My current quote is £212

Personal sad news occurring more frequently as I get older. My RSM in 4 Para passed away December 17th. No details of the cause but he must have been in his 80's. Tony had a very interesting history including the RAF free fall Red Falcons. Also promoted free fall in Dubai.
The sad fact is that due to Covid rules non of his comrades can attend his funeral service. I'm sure he won't mind but we do. Cheers Tony R.I.P. stand easy Sir!

My Dad was Gnr. Harry (Titch) Cartwright R.E. The Parachute Regiment in Palestine. I’m never sure which bunch though 4 Para rings a bell. Any ideas?

If you go on para data website with his details you might find him. Possibly his service number will be required.
Good luck. Respect  :-)  Utrinque paratus
