When I was working, way back in the 20th century, I used to hate Mondays, but now, like you, I love ‘em O0

Noticed how Saturdays and Sundays are really busy shopping wise - considering its still lockdown  >>:-( must mean people are going to work in non essential businesses instead of 'staying at home', wouldn't surprise me if their companies are claiming the furlough as well

Our local M&S store is bounded by the current track and trace for the cases of the Brazil variant , hardly anyone around, car park empty.

We have an M&S simply food on a city centre retail park.
Usually more staff than customers.
The negative is that a £60 Aldi shop is nearer a £100 there

Well I do my shopping on a Saturday morning as I am working from home the rest of the week, I do work in an essential industry (you do all want the electricity to stay on dont you?), so as before any of this i have to do my shopping at weekends, and that is the one day i leave my house.

I don't know that we have Yorkshire Tea in OZ, however I am pleased to try any alternate quality brew......[except Earle Grey & any other  >>:-( exotics]

So I suspect your packets of the said Tea confirms origins as follows?

"Yorkshire Tea uses varieties of tea grown in India,,Sri Lanka & Kenya blended to form five varieties".

Hi Derek I take my tea bags with me when visiting the backwaters of OZ.  I also bring my coffee of choice.  I will allow that Twinings breakfast tea is OK, I assume it is packed in Poland as it saves time as it is on the way!
My son has an automatic coffee maker just put your cup underneath and wait......  So I bring my own Cap Columba instant with me and have to choose my moments when I sneak a cup!  I shall return knees willing in 2022.
We do however eat a lot of fruit, grapes coming from India now.

Currently the EU has decided that if we can't be beaten they will drown us in burocracy and forms, this does limit our imports.
The last time we left France waving 2 fingers at the French bowman,  I think now we should use the same 2 fingers but have a thumb between doing the action, mimicking a syringe.

Cheers Derek

ahah.....Hullo Roy........do you have your own version of Herts - English British tea? ....and do you declare your Teabags on arrival at Sydney  :police:

I must admit, to some 50+ years of working life, each day I looked forward to my 9:00 AM cuppa + Vegemite SAO biscuits

In earlier years , in an enamelled mug :-)) then later in life Cafe-Bar-Cups :embarrassed:  .......until retirement, now in a Royal Daulton Mug {-)

Derek

oh...PS......don't worry about bringing your own Indian grapes, our OZ harvest [be it red or white] goes from better to even better each harvest

Hi Derek, Vegemite?????  Never thought of that for breakfast!  I have the Gold version of Yorkshire tea, much smoother so I will be introducing Oz to them next year, hopefully Feb 22.

I am guilty of smuggling tea bags.  Having watched the Sydney airport customs TV shows I was very careful on my next trip and declared the rest of the peanuts in my snack bag from the flight over.  She smiled and just waved me through, they were filming at the time, I suspect I am on the cutting room floor (nice CD that Cara Emerald).
But I got through the system much quicker and Andrew had only been waiting a few minutes.  I am a convert to 4 wheel drive cases though so much easier to move around.
Just finished my brekkers, Croisants and marmalade.  The French do have some good ideas, OK I know Brunel went to school in France.  That's the trouble with the English, they think all you need to know can be summed up in a degree in the Classics.  My son in law is currently a Programme Director here for one of the two most well known universities, post grad courses and trying to dig them out of the past.

Hopefully things will change and we will not have a Tory government as we had under a Mr. E. Heath with all his Etonian school friends in the cabinet.  M. Thatcher used to say that Yes, Minister was her favourite TV show as it was so much like the way it was then.

Hey Ho things will change, I hope you are all keeping well in the antipodes.  I think the current common crisis has brought a lot of political decision making to the surface as the effect of making rules and timing of them plus their effectiveness can be measured and is being measured.  No hiding behind obfuscations and throwing dead cats into the arena!
Best regards
Roy

Been in the Twinings factory in Andover, helping to design and install some scrap tea bag paper/tea separating equipment, the tea is quite valuable to the manufacturer so separating out the paper from the tea is cost effective, also in the Manchester branch of Unilever we supplied two quite small fans per packing machine to replace their positive displacement blowers that cost an arm and a leg to maintain and they also saved a lot of loose tea in the process.

there was talk then (many years ago) that they were packaging tea in Poland as it was more cost effective.
