The wife just let me buy this £29.95 but I can't taste it until Thursday.
Very good reviews

Just finished a bottle of this (Loch Lomond 12 YO) which #2 daughter gave me for my birthday - she knows me too well.  Well worth the wait to try it Andy.

I thought the idea of decanters was so your guests cannot tell it’s the cheap stuff  {-)

Of course it is, that’s why posh people do it, especially if they’re not as well off as they pretend to be  O0

It’s called keeping up appearances  %)

I read in one of Sir Pterry's books that spirit decanters were engraved "NIG" and "MUR" so that the butler would not know which he was topping up with "ERINU".

OK I've just had  2 Belgian small but strong beers and that's it today.
Now I just went for that Irish decanter and nearly sprained my wrist getting it from the cupboard to the glass  %%  AND spilled two drops  <:(  I guess it will get less of a strain as the contents deplete  {-)

I wrote that in a mix of Irish & Scotts accents

My impression of Loch Lomond 12
No negatives it's really nice and drinkable for as long as you can remain compos mentis {-)

There are loads of options at this price point equally desirable so for me the price on the day wins.

£30 seems to be the mark for me as many more expensive bottles often drop into this territory on Amazon then buy!

A change of programme. With the easing of lockdown I cannot be going out for a meal only to say I cannot have a drink because of my current regime  %%
So from now I will drink Friday and Saturday only but no drink tomorrow because I drank yesterday already  :police: {-)
Confusing maybe but now it’s SIX days before my next tipple 😱

Andy, I like your regime, but oh the temptation with a cellar like you have, you have some very nice ones, with my favourite hiding in the background. I remember the first time I had a Tinnamens fruit , dubious I was but surprised how refreshing it turned out to be. Keep well, nemesis

I am thinking of getting some A over T  from the Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham . One of their specials.

Along the way a lot of customers asked what the name A over T stood for and so as not to afront their delicacies they have said it stands for "Aroma's over Tongham"   But we know better.

The number 50 is significant today. 12 days with drink and 38 without  :police:

My regime now is a bit more flexible. I can drink on 2 days only with a choice of FRI/SAT FRI/SUN or SAT/SUN

Not sure about holidays but probably have a little every day. First break is at Sandringham mid May 7 days

I think we have to cancel Sandringham. My mother requires a lot of help just now due to burdens she has taken on over time that are now too much to cope with at 85. A male friend who she took in some years ago due to a knee replacement op and stairs at his own house now has severe dementia. Getting care for him is proving extremely difficult and if SS don't get their finger out we'll be needing two placements. She also took on stray cats that are now defecating anywhere as she cannot cope with litter trays. There were five but today I managed to re home the two oldest with a couple of Philipino health care workers.
Anyway we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
So as an alternative to a week away we will go to Hebden Bridge CC fairly local and for the first time with a dog. We don't have grand kids for various reasons but we have a grand fur baby William a retired gun dog and he is gorgeous. This will be a new experience for all of us.
7 yrs old this week
