Thanks Stan, It's my turn and even where there are brothers and sisters its usually one that cops for all the work.
I'm an only child with an extremely good long term memory and she has been and still is the best mother I could have.

As a child my school friends who met her used to say to me isn't your mam nice. I just assumed all mothers were  %%
Before I was 3 she had me reciting my name and address  :}  and I could tie shoe laces before I started at school . Endless memories

Thanks Colin we are doing OK for now. She does swig a lot of Whisky which is not helping but it doesn't do to tell her off. Reasoning with her and the potential outcome of continuing this way will hopefully make her moderate.
Her fear for many years has been the thought of her house being taken to pay for her care.
Persuading her that the best way to avoid that is by keeping her marbles and help in her home are the way to go is working a little.

I can understand the drink, she's endured a lot in recent years and now she's alone in a clean house that she cannot smell but she can see its much nicer. We're trying to get her back into local community activities.

If she gets so bad we don't care about inheritance and she won't know so no problem other than guilt.

I find that information overload is to be avoided!
Sewing a seed in her mind yields a result next day or so.

Taking assets to pay for care is of course a very hot issue.

Example A works hard all their life paid all their taxes and NI only for the fruits of their labour to be grabbed.

Example B Low achiever never amounted to anything, nothing to lose gets free care at general public expense.

Local authorities have contracts in place for cost limits with private care homes. I believe this is £550 a week in Leeds.

Visit to Halifax bank was a let down. Despite security dept saying we don't need an appointment yes we do!
Experienced this before with them they're not all on the same song sheet  <*<

Anyway we were lucky enough to find a hair dresser sitting down so we ushered mother in and nailed her to the chair  :police:

More than a year since last cut  %%

While out and about there in Morley I tried too get a digital photo for passport renewal. Seems the post office don't do this service in most if not all places. I was directed to MAX Spielmann where I found they do exactly what is required so that you get a code to enter on the passport website.
This service was £10.99 including 30 day storage of your photo file and four hard copies.

Passport renewal is £75.50 and currently saying up to ten weeks.
Wont be going abroad this year but best to have it.

Looking at the photo at the hairdressers just made me realise how lucky we are to be available seven days a week. If it were not for my wife I would not have been able to retire near 5 yrs early

Thanks Mark
Tomorrow we've arranged for her to visit the dementia care home where her man friend now lives.
She just needs to know if he remembers her. I already know the answer to that but if she witnesses it for herself it will take another weight off her mind.
She seems to be drinking less and getting used to the absence of the cats and Eric. As her home is being brought back into the realms of fresh clean and new its definitely helping.

Hi Andy, It is a four blade prop @ 45mm, motor is a 555, on 12v or three LiPos. I had the feeling about the winch/windless but do not fret, when the time is right I will send you my spare. bill
Hi Bill. I'm just approaching the stern having started at the bow with frame assembly and started looking at prop shaft etc and I checked on the drawing side elevation to find 45mm prop won't fit. 35mm seems to be the best fit.
I'm going to fit a longer shaft so I can place my brushless motor better.

Hi Andy, I suppose this is how things evolve, my two had a glass fibre hulls so with a tweak here and there and there you go. I think other builders of this model find the constriction of the frames a bind in regard to the innards hence the move to G/fibre. I will check again on Thurs as Tues is off this week, Regards to your Mum, Bill

Thank you Bill
No need to check 35mm is right for my hull  :-))
As it’s all new frames that doesn’t mean repeating Billing Boats frame shapes

Nice hull Jason.
I've ordered a 35mm 4 blade type A prop Bill and a 211mm waterproof sealed prop shaft.
I'm making the decks now before fitting the hull bottom skins.
The old mahogany in the kit is not even cut with the grain in the right direction to suit the bends.
Will be easy with modern marine ply from SLEC

The passport service so far has been spot on.
I got an email to remind me to post my old passport, another to confirm they received it and another to confirm my application is ok and I cannot see this being 10 weeks. I suspect that if for first time applications.

Mother is a different woman today! Better than she's been for a long time. I've almost finished decorating and the smell of cat pi** is long gone.

Hi Andy, it does not surprise me with that wood, a lot of modeller lost some hair trying to manage what it was intended for. Sheer waste of Mahogany. The built is looking good, keep up the good work, bill

An extremely high tech series C passport and I can see why it costs £75 what is inside is amazing  :-)

Not surprised, as I renewed my passport in early April and it was all sorted in about a week.  With people limited in travel destinations there must be lots of slack in the system.  I agree the passport is good it falls open at the right page.

I suggest you photograph the data and print it out and carry it with you when travelling, just in case it goes missing.

Another thing if you still use a camera, put the ownership details up on a screen and photograph it to prove identity.  However when you do this take out the memory card and use the internal memory.  If the camera is stolen a thief will not look to erase this memory.
regards
Roy
