I built one about 30 yrs ago and worked on the class of Tugs.
Dodes in here has not long finnished one too.
I put twin rudders on mine for manouverability but Dodes built his as built.
They look good, very stable and if built as built would benefit from independent shaft control or a mixer.

Hi, this class where in some ways of the MoD trying to get two types of tugs in one like the R class, which with both classes was not the success they were after. They did ocean tows from far east to UK, coastal and harbour work. I run my model on two independent out turning screws, with the rudder worked on a corner aileron toggle on my six channel t/x. She stops well and turns well on the screws only use the rudder on a long straight run, much like the originals. The plans I had did not show the myriad of ventilation vents on deck, so good photos I found were necessary , I finished my one as agile, as she was the only fitted with a main mast to carry the after mast head light for a 150 + vessel. The real boats rolled like the proverbial in the pot and with twin CP propeller's where a nightmare when going alongside low vessels such as S/m's for alongside cold moves . But they do make good interesting models to use on the pond and the real ones where interesting to look at(the Agile went through a bad Typhoon in the Indian Ocean towing the tug Spaniel back to U/K from Singapore. Also as for as I know they were fitted for a single 40mm bofors but they were never fitted, the high plates forward of the wheelhouse for mounting the gun was used to stow ropes and cane fenders.

New boy on the block.
I served on Confiance in the early/mid 1970's and had a great time. Being retired now I'm engaged on building my early ships for the grandson - Whimbrel is done (1/48), and Kinbrace, now want to do Confiance and Sea Giant. I've found Sea Giant plans at Greenwich, so OK there.
Here's the kicker - I think it was Christmas 73 or 74, I pulled a whole weekend duty, so carefully traced the complete set of original full-size plans of Confiance. I kept them in a cardboard tube for decades - now, several moves later there is no sign of them.

There is hope though, as I see one of you on this forum has plans. Have you still got them? Can I have a copy?
I have plenty of photographs, so detail is not too difficult.
I see LoyalHannah are offering plans at 450$ - but that is way beyond my pocket money - I have managed to discover very basic plans at Lloyds for freeboard certification but difficult to scale up, so, can you guys help?
Thanks, in anticipation, and with bated breath,
Robert
