Watson class Motor Lifeboat - Solomon Brown ON954
« on: September 25, 2021, 04:00:41 am »

Via email to Mayhem ....

First let me explain who I am and then why I am contacting you,

My name is Albert -, a retired British Licenced Helicopter Engineer. Aged 70+ years, living in the city of HeYuan, GuangDong Province, China, with my Chinese Wife. I returned to China for a short Holiday in October 2019 and then had to remain in China due to the Coronavirus outbreak and subsequent travel restrictions. Where I have been ever since.

I was recommended  to contact your forum by John Davies of Modelboatbuilder whom I have been in contact with via email regarding building a scale mode of a 47ft, Watson class Motor Lifeboat namely the Solomon Brown ON954 that went down with all hands on the 19 December 1981 (Penlee lifeboat disaster).

John has a set of rather old and damaged plans of the boat, that he intended to copy and send to me but because the state of his plans he is having difficulty copying them. Could your forum Help?

1/ Does anyone in your forum have a full set off copies of the plans for a scale model of any 47ft. Watson class lifeboat that are in a good enough state to copy and send to me in China via DHL?

2/ Being new to building scale models as the only models I have built are the Airfix type as a boy. Do you know of anyone willing to assist me with advice, via email, for a novice boat builder just starting out.

Thank you and Stay Safe.
Albert

From what I see on-line: Neil Howard Pritchard (nhp) on modelboats and other forums no doubt is a source of if not can point out  anything lifeboat related.  I know there have been politics in the past but he's obsssive about lifeboats, some pointers should direct to him on modelboats, rcgroups etc?
