motor couplings
« on: February 10, 2019, 02:41:25 am »

Hi There,
I am after some flexible couplings. I have seen on some builds a type that has alloy ends and rubber? centre piece.
If anyone can head me in the right direction to purchase a couple of these it would be appreciated.

Get something that includes two phased cardan joints, noy a single cardan joint as the majority of modelers use. The single is not a proper universal joint and creatres much noise and vibration. What you ultimately use is going to depend on the size of your motor and the prop its driving.

I am not looking for cardan joints but as described above. Cardan joints are ok for low speed applications but I'm looking at 25000 rpm.

You''l find what you need on Page 20 http://www.shgmodels.com/acatalog/
I've found that an E-Mail rarely works so I usually order by post with my card details, but as you aren't in the UK I suggest you ring them to check the curent price and also the postage.
