Bogie glue?

I've just finished a Dean's Liberty Ship and I've got a load of cargo to go on the decks.
I want the cargo to stay put in normal operation but I want the option to be able to take it all off with no damage.
I'd like some of that glue that Screwfix use on their offer envelopes - a sort of 'bogie' glue that's clear and stringy and comes off with no residue.
Anybody know anywhere that sells such a glue and what is it called?

Sure there are many products out there...

Google or Amazon "glue dots" or "sticky dots" maybe what you are after - just make sure removable is in the product desrciption

Hi it's John V i tend to use a small drop of clear silicone .Works wonders with me .But what do I know cheers John V

Thanks guys - that's not totally what I'm looking for - all the bits are different shapes so I'm ideally looking for something in a tube.
I have to secure 9x M4 Shermans, 5x M3 Half-tracks, 3 jeeps, 4 landing craft and loads of crates

Have you thought about using rare earth magnets?
They come in lots of sizes, including long strips. The thicker they are the more powerful. If you used powerful magnets under the decking and small steel plates under the tanks etc., the latter of which could even be painted to match the object they are attached to.

Hi, I think you just need clear bathroom sealant.  Sticks well and 'rubs' off easily.

I've always found silicone impossible to remove completely - it always leaves residues behind.

Model Railway guys swear by a product called "bullfrog snot" or "tacky wax" for placement of parts.  I don't really think they are handleable though.  I wouldn't put silicone sealant anywhere near anything I might want to paint in future.

I have in the past used artists latex masking flud to seal or fix parts temporarly.  You might want to explore that option.


Copydex is also a well known rubbery adhesive which is usually removable.  Not as good as it was before when it stank of fish but still OK.
