Nice job so far - looks like you've fired two pack on them?

Nice  :-))   Well they not going to chip when they're handled thats for sure.  Keep the updates coming please.  Are you going to leave them glossy or just blast a bit of clear over to dull them down?

If blast clear on them they will be even glossier....easy way  to dull them down will be to rub them with 1500 grit paper and farecla G3 compound by hand

Two pack paint is used in the car industry. Its paint that is mixed with a hardener which can be either air cured or heat cured which is the more common.  Its extremely toxic and must only be sprayed with proper dust extraction and the painter needs a separate air supply that is fed into their protective face hood.  The finish though is lovely and extremely tough.

Two pack paint is also used extensively in the marine industry as it is exceptionally tough. Quite appropriate for a lifeboat model but you do need to know how to apply it effectively as Dave says.

Dave....the images you show are from a David Jones & his Flikr streaming folder is also an intriguing  %) device

Appears to be a top & bottom printed PU male & female profile to suit the hull, and a horizontal bar sandwiched between with possibly digital displays?

Who is Mr Jones & his equipment?

Whi is he ME of course do you really think I would steal anyone photos  <*<

The tool you see is simply a profile gauge and is ideal to get the correct hull shape for making boat stands

Credit where it is due. I could never get anywhere near that standard of painting. Full marks.
