DD, double sided tape is fine, I use it quite a lot, ( Only mine was given to me by an ex-raf aircraft fitter ) apparently they used it for panel patches.
you will find that if you varnish the ply first it will give a better grip as it likes smooooth surfaces best and try to roller it as well so that are no air bubbles  O0

A friend of mine gave me some double sided sticky pads a while back, they are for sticking number plates on cars. He warned me to make sure your sticking it exactly where you want it to go as it's on for life.....I thought yeah..yeah, nothing can be that strong :embarrassed: Oh boy, how wrong was I!!! To this day nothing else has come close, so if you want something stuck permanet then just nip off to your local car shop.

All these uses and so very few have used it for model building! Part of my enjoyment is looking for new (or different) ways of doing things. Tape was one of them. Hope I have helped to "improve the breed"!!

Found this in Portsmouth today. The sticky sheet itsellf is like thick sellotape and looks fine for attaching ply to plasticard etc.

Has anybody tried this product I'm going to try it .  it will only work where heat is not a problem but there's no problem with placement as it is only activated by heat , and it should be as water resistant as most as its used in kitchens and bathrooms for edging. it may be good for decking with a small iron same as they use on solarfilm.
