Have mentioned some years back, a colleague who served his 'Time' as an Apprentice Shipwright at the BHP Whyalla Shipyards taught me how to create Water Lines......an art in itself  :o .....and then Frames from the created Water Lines  .....and then more stories of his work

The Loft [Lofting Room] was huge......hull frames, hull expansions, plates were drawn full sized.....

Toleranced errors were corrected & attended to the Tradesman in the Punch Shop [punching holes for rivets]

A number of wooden vessels were drawn, however built by 3rd parties........nothing like earlier Man of War vessels, however they did utilize traditional design skills

So if a world wide power supply interruption occurred, all those using NaviCAD and all of the other CAD programs would need to take an extended coffee break  O0 production of drawings would cease.....as no one  will know the processes required to produce the work without computers

Ask them "how many cubits would they like with their coffee?" and watch the blank expressions   {-)

And of course you needed beam forward if you were to get another pair of canons in, considering the need for recoil space. no point in having a slim vulnerable bow, and losing fighting capability.
