Author Topic: The return of the Model Engineering Exhibition at Doncaster MES  (Read 2977 times)

It has been announced that the  National Model Engineering Show at Doncaster Race  course will be hosting  the 2019 MEX competition better known as the Model Engineering Exhibition   between the 10th 12th of May..  This will include all the usual categories  of   model boat classes. Details and entry form is available from the Doncaster Model Engineering Show . For those who have missed out in the past from  entering   because of location then now is your chance .  Since 1907   the MEX has been the UKs premier event.

Good to see that the competition has been revived. The new Northern location means that it will be a lot easier for many prospective entrants than when it was held down South and I do hope that people will be encouraged to put their models in for the public to enjoy and hopefully give a boost to our hobby.
I was invited to continue with my long term judging role by the organisers but unfortunately this year the short notice means that I will be away at the time but Dave Wooley will be casting his eye over the models and I'm sure will do an excellent job.
I know a lot of people disparage competitions these days and are reluctant to enter but events at this level really do showcase the very  best of marine model making and deserve to be supported.

Yes he is  :-))   I'm always inspired by the models at the MEX   and Doncaster MES especially the model boats .

He has his table just to the right of the big row of doors to the terrace . He has A huge ringbinder of photos showing how he made every part. Most incredible

Well  now's your chance for all those modellers  in the North to exhibit your pride and joy at Doncaster MES as part of  the Model Engineering Exhibition   .There are  lots of brilliant builder around as  is shown on  Mayhem so why  not have a go , you know you can do it  :-)) :-)) :-))
