Never again

Tried to post a couple of jpg photos of a sport fisherman I completed last year. JPEG photos rejected & authentication too burdensome . First & last post.

Hey chum.......

You must realize one SPAM e-mail [with Malware] posted into or out from Model Boat Mayhem has the potential to bring the Forum to a  <*< Crashing halt

Each of our 6996 members have been subjected an authentication process of some kind over the years .......I know, 18 years ago it was a little less complex or more simple {-)  [but times have changed].....

So if you like model boats & would like to post, members will be more than happy to read, join in on your build & offer constructive comment if needed. There is also a massive amount of history and information in the MBM archives for members to read & learn

Should you still consider authentication too burdensome, well thats OK......it's your choice

You could always join a knitting club......a dropped stitch here or there %) ...no one will ever know but you

I think they expect a forum to work like facebook.

Having posted close to 3000 times in other boating forums I do not consider myself uniniated regarding how to do so. I have discovered that my photo file size is too large for MBM. A question...is the seven step authentication required for every post or is the protocol limited to new folks here?

MBM has a wealth of interesting and informative information which I most certainly value. I will just explore various posts rather than creating my own.

To get the best images anywhere I post I pay for my own image hosting.

This is a guide to using this forums image hosting free but with limits
https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,61103.0.html

I pay less than £1 per week including VAT for many thousands of hosted pictures with no file size
Try clicking this image and prepare for a bit of scrolling  {-)

External photo hosting isn't mandatory, you can post fairly large images directly onto MBM, providing they are under 500kb. There are lots of online photo size reducing websites that are free and easy to use. Just Google 'resize photos online' and you get lots of sites to choose from. You just have to make sure that the size is below 500kb. One tip though, if you have spent ages writing a post and attached your photos, and one of the photos is too large, you get an error message, but you won't necessarily get your post back. So it's always worth copying your text to your clipboard before hitting the Post button. If you then get the error, you can easily create a new post and just paste the original text back in.

Have you seen it on the tug forum? How many posts required to escape the 7 item authentication?
If you are interested I can send the URL from RC Scale forum.

I sometimes have problems uploading photos, usually after an compute update, or when the hosting site has 'improved' things. If I am teaching you how to paint anchors then do tut and roll your eyes  :-) :-) but check the hosting link code is the correct one, as this has often been the bane of my life in the past.

Do it from a compooter as this seems less problematic (sayeth a technophobe with a basic mobile seeing fellow members struggle with smart phones and the like) than other devices.

Welcome to the forum, it improved my life (I think  :} )

Your work looks great by the way.

That just takes me to the AOl email login page!

What sort of device are you using? I never have any problems uploading 600/800 pixel images directly from my PC or laptop. I've put two up just now.
