Some great work on those two - like the weathering and smear / smudges too. Great stuff  :-)

Thank you for the kind comments. Finally figured out how to post photos here. Much easier in Windows than on an iPad.

Hi Mark,
I continue to be surprised at the number of people that are also in this venue.

A Q1 tug. have not had it in the water except for ballasting trials. expect it to be rather tender.

Very nice.
I've been looking at Dozer tugs recently and fancy building something from scratch around 1:12
Have you come across any plans Bill ?

Thanks Andy.
I have not come across any plans. Loyalhanna Dockyard here in the US advertises Ron Burchett plans & hulls so you might try them at LH Dockyard@aol.com. I’m certain there are some out there...hull form not that  complicated.

Apologies for my intrusion Bill but I hope you find this guy as interesting as I do
Unfortunately he tells me he threw the plans away when he sold the model  :((

Tim, I am familiar with his work. Sylvain is a very accomplished builder. I need to go back & watch his dozer video. I am headed tothe warmer climes for the month of April. the Q1 is one of the boats I'm taking along. I'll let you know how it performs.  The log tug i posted here runs very well when towing...when running solo, not so much. I expect the Q1 is going to be difficult to run but we'll see. the attached pics show how difficult it is to fit everything into the hull.

After viewing Sylvain’s Chinook video I see I will need to modify mine. Add a skeg & perhaps a Kort. I am running on 6v to tame speed. My mini esc may not allow tweaking via the rx. Aesthetically, rub strakes  are going to be a must. However, the first run in Fl will be the maiden splash so who knows what I will discover.

A short in-water video. Not really quite as tender as it looks. First time my 11 year old grandson skippered it so he has not learned 18’s quirks.

Completed a few things. Porthole “eyebrows”added, cut aft hawse pipes & began fendering for the stern,& started the anchor winch.
