HI jaffy012

The two motor leads from the ESC go straight to one(get that one running in the right direction).
Depower the setup.
Add two wires across to the other motor but cross over the leads to get the motor turning in the right direction.
Repower the setup and test.

Is that right canabus? I think I bought one of these esc's last month because it can drive two motors on separate outputs provided (though there's no mixer). I'm not home to check but from memory fiddling with mine the other night the black and red leads need to be fitted with your own battery connector. There is a pair of yellow and pair of blue mototor leads and usual female bullets with silicone shrouds. One yellow and one blue go to each motor. I don't know if they're paired or if it makes any difference. Remember to set the dip switches to "boat" and Li-Po or Ni-Mh also.

I'm assuming normal good practice of fitting a fuse on each motor rather than (or in addition) on the battery side, but not sure if the ESC already has dual protection already in there.

Is that right? Otherwise for a normal single motor ESC it's as cannabus depicts.

Assuming that it is one of these - http://www.hobbywing.com/goods.php?id=357 - what RST said.
A sort of wiring drawing for it appears at http://www.hobbywing.com/goods.php?id=357 toward the bottom of the page.

Yea, no problem.  I just looked at the end of mine and thankfully, all the power cables are labeled so M1 Blue and M1 yellow got to one motor, etc.  Let us know how you get on with it.  I only grabbed one when I was in the local model shop last time because I thought it was neat having the 2 outputs, and at £30 it was well worth a try at some point.  I've never run mine yet though.

Not too sure what that means.  There are quite a few winch options  - turns, drum diameter, size and pull power on the internet.

Wire winch rope can be anything from motorcycle brake cable to stranded jewellery wire plus added grease :-))
