Nordic Emergency tow vessel.
« on: March 30, 2019, 09:04:13 am »

My first big boat project that Alan has treated me to. The first thing I had to do was cut out and glue the stand and then the fun began. Alan has helped me with the fiddly bits. I just can't believe I am enjoying building this model.
I should tell you that she is a Nordic Emergency tow vessel. I am quite pleased with how the building is going so far. I

I did take loads of pictures of the build on my iPad. I went to post the Pictures but my iPad stopped working.

Pictures are day 1 of the build

Hi everyone. I've had a really good day today boat building. I can see why this model boat making can get so addictive and very enjoyable.

You will see from the first and second photo that I have managed to get the window frames  onto the deck. Very fiddly and challenging. I am really enjoying building this boat. I'm glad I picked it as my first big model boat.

Alan has helped me again with a couple of bits. It's great that he can show me how to read a plan as detailed as this one. If I get stuck he is always there to advise me.

Alan has been out today and brought all of the paints needed for the boat. Bless him.

I hope you like the photos.

Thanks Phil.

Debbie.....I am a little lost with a few Items

S10 and S11 appear two round pipe elements, not sure what they are ...could these be the two main engine exhaust transitions? however in real size they must be say 900mm diameter? ..........[copied image below may not be correct?]
Do these internally join to the plate F2?
S14, this appears I believe in other views as a smaller possibly 250mm real life diameter pipe with "Vitriolic" type clamps at angle sets
I could see this pipe being a Fire Water Ring Main?

The final color coding of the pipework will be interesting as is dependent on the Flag of Registry........

Sea water Ring Mains can be GREEN, or Fire Water Ring Mains are RED

Hi Derek.
S10 and S11 are the exhaust outlets for the main engines. On the drawing F2 only has 3 holes in it but the actual part has 4, as there is a third smaller exhaust, which I would assume is an emergency generator. The fourth hole is for the pipe going to the fire hydrant on the top. These will be fitted after the painting is done. She is sailing under a German flag at the moment, so what would be the correct colour.
Thanks Very much for your interest and help.

Kind regards
Debbie
