1/20th Scale PT/MTB build advice sought
« on: April 11, 2019, 11:24:40 pm »

Hi folks.
Whilst the idea of a Stuart ISIS is nice, I remembered that I had this 50" fast boat hull stored behind my workshop, and turning that into a hot rod is a much more appealing idea! I've been reading up on brushless motors - a completely new technology for me - and it is exciting, so I'm looking for recommendations for the most appropriate three motors and associated controllers. I read the recent thread on a 36" Perkasa and ESC help, which Canabus and Hotglove contributed to, and the advice looked pretty sound to me! I've also been looking at the excellent PT-Boat website - and made the requested contribution - which will help with a lot of the detail.
Here's my hull. I was at a car boot sale many years ago and I spotted a boat mould leaning up against the ubiquitous Ford Transit. "How much?" said I. "Give us a tenner" said the man. When I got it home I found this perfect 50" hull sitting in the mould, hitherto undetected...
