Hi  been sanding down filler today. The primer shows every blemish I hate this step of the rebuild  it seems to take forever.  Sadly a further casualty today the light on the cab roof  got knocked off. This will have to made again and rewired  one step forward ten back. .

Just a few high spots to sand back the into the paint shop. Also a picture of the new mast head light still needs a L E D fitting then paint and refit and rewire.

Looking good Stan. Did you fabricate the masthead light?

Hi Bill the actual light was made by Graupner many years ago. I am not sure if these fittings are still available.

Well I had enough of filling and sanding taking the plunge tomorrow and start the paint job.  Just a few pictures  showing the primed hull. The mast light is now wired using 2mm soft yellow L E D more to follow.

I'm pondering on the hull shape here Stan. The drawing seems to show all the cross section with a very much rounded chine getting sharper towards the bow. I prefer the sharp angle full length

Hull paint work now complete timber parts to fit ships name on the stern. Then the fun starts applying some dirty areas. Pictures this evening.
