What is this material, discription only
« on: April 10, 2019, 12:00:47 am »

I have been watching youtube clips of boat builds.
Several have been skeleton framed and then skinned.
The material used was a white sheet about 3mm thick. it looked some kind of plastic.
looked easy to cut and trim with knife. no foam present.
looked to be same density through sheet, not skinned .
the guy sanded it ok.
it cut far to easy tha 3mm stryrene sheet or abs
any ideas and I can look that up
thanks

Just looked up Depron and sintra.
it was not depron , this was cut far to easily and foam like
Sintra, this looks to be the one!
Sintra is a brand name ,its closed cell pvc foam.
the youtube clip on its use says comes in various thicknesses sands like wood and can be hand cut at under 3mm
I am now going to see if available in the UK,all the clips I have just seen are from overseas
thanks for pointers

Sintra is used for making signs, that might be an avenue to pursue
