Well the smaller boat (115cm) on its second run made 107mph on batt's that already had a few passes with x447, upped to x457 which are cut to 51mm she made 107mph with more to go.... Very happy with that.

I have a set of AB ABC 2016 and with a fresh charge on the batts should easy break the 110 mark maybe even 115 if im lucky.

I think it could well be the quickest boat in the Uk...  ;)

i think the record for the 150cm boats is about 149mph. I'll be shooting for the 120mph mark

I have some video from it's first outing i think the max speed was around 93mph

It's got ridiculous amounts of power, it had one blow over at around gps speed of 90mph when hitting the throttle and she basically did a wheelie... thankfully landed gently.

I will be running it mainly on a more conservative setup based around 7s, reserving the 8s setup for SAW's and maybe any events i attend, i have 3 sets of props from x447 the 457 cut and ABC 2016, for day to day ill just run 447 on 8s and probably 457 on 7s.

Hopefully covid will calm down and later in the year the MPBA can hold the SAW event. probably won't have the 150 built by then but viewing previous records, if the conditions are correct, i should be able to take the large mono record and cat records... (the H&M no step is currently at 75mph with a tiny prop)

Some stuff from Germany - I will have to check

Here is my latest purchase, Atlantic challenger that was brushless but I've made it direct drive with much bigger and better electrics, and done lots of tidying up as it was pretty rough.. here they are together.

My plans are, keep mine original - I've owned since new probably 13-15 years now, still have original ESC 700bb turbo etc and it will be a static display. new acquisition ill run.

Hello gents,

Some on the water shots, one of the 4 collets was slipping,

much better performance than standard would hazard high 20's flat out, will gps at some point but it's fast enough that it's exciting and hopefully I'm not going to grenade the driveline.

Finally back from paint, the colour is "white stone" from Aston Martin... pretty amazing in the sun.

It's going back in to have the screen painted in next week

Only pic I have with both of them

Now just have to pray covid gets under control and we can have a SAW race on a decent lake this year and I can officially be the first boat to run 100+mph.

Well, after a bit of a break - mainly due to a shortage of seafaring officers and my last leave period being over Christmas I'm now continuing on with the builds...

I sold the 1.5m hull I started rigging ages ago, I thought if I was ploughing obscene money into a boat, I'd build the hull I really wanted...

Anyway, here is the new project, a HprC5008, its a 1.85 meter long Cat.

Will run on 14s (52V) lipo

The theme for the build is the Aston Martin Valkyrie hyper car... ill keep the final colour secret for now.

This is the CF for the interior... Motor mounts are Carbon with a honeycomb sandwich 8mm thick.

8 M4 bolts should keep the hatch on I hope.

Coming together....

Well managed to squeeze a run in, wasn't ideal conditions rather windy but... managed the big 100mph she runs super nice.... now maybe 110? temps came back low considering it was a full run.

Not bad for something 1.9 meters long

Wow! That is seriously impressive.  I am surprised that at that speed it doesn't just take off.  Do you have any active control of hull attitude?  Trim tabs or similar?  Or is it simply hull/deck shape that keeps it glued to the water?  And where do you run the boat?  I guess Kielder Water or somewhere similar is needed to give you enough space!

Hi, the core material is known as nomex honeycomb

For years, genuine Nomex® aramid paper honeycomb has been the de-facto standard in none-metallic, lightweight core materials for sandwich composites. Nomex® honeycomb is used extensively in aerospace applications like cabinets, lockers and bulkheads as well as in high-performance motorsports including Formula 1 and WRC.
Genuine Nomex® is known for its excellent mechanical properties and trusted, consistent manufacturing precision. This ultra-lightweight ‘Aerospace Grade’ Nomex® weighs just 29kg/m³ and is much sought-after by competition R/C aero modellers and motorsport teams as one of the lightest core materials on the market. Targeted specifically at the competition R/C and motorsport market
