Planking with Magnets

I'm probably well behind the times as per usual but planking using rare earth magnets is just so easy.  Just pop one either side of the hull and then simply slide them down and its job done.  Put the plank in place and drag the magnets over it - you will see the glue squeeze out a bit as they apply their pressure.  Saves loads of time and you only need to put a few clamps on just to push the planks tightly together.


If you know this already I can only apologise but this was new to me so I thought that I would share  :-))   A couple of pics below to show what I mean.








They are 9mm square N52 magnets and separating them is a task in itself  {-)   I hope this helps someone

Yes it seems to be working very well for me and on ebay these magnets are really cheap.


I don't think the very small ones would work very well but these 9mm ones seem to be okay.  The one draw back is that they will not pull a poorly shaped plank into place like a clamp will.  So I've found that if I shape and bend the planks just about spot on they do the job well
