Now please forgive my childishness but as this kit is for 14+ I could not resist  {-)

They are of course unseen with the cabin in place  :-))

Hobby King occasionally do prizes for photos of Turnigy equipped models so I'm prepared  :-)

My cabin has the cross brace removed now so I've raised the Receiver Ned  O0

I've not been able to find a deck stain I'm happy with so rather than be at standstill I decided to mask the deck and fit the first sheet. I've now used TWO bottles of ZAP slow CA  %%

A lot of shaping to do once the other side is on but already looking sleek with a nice concave shape

If I can find a clever way to overcome the rudder post I'd prefer to keep my working deck loose fitting and removable

Rudder post issue resolved by cutting a panel out of the deck. The panel can be fixed and act as the servo mount location whilst still being able to remove the rest of the decking. Only achievable if the cabin is made removable  :-))

3rd incarnation of linkage now works a treat without any clashes and with hatch cover. Stops not set yet

I've finished cladding now and started contouring to the plan. I'm thinking I might do better to apply a thin coat of resin all over before starting with glass cloth. This could be in the water next week for speed trial now the rudder works

Matted off with 400 grit wet & dry. I've just applied a coat of resin the the Transom, Once set I'll start second coat of glass. Already feels very solid.

That looks like Wedgewood Green, Andy. Not a colour I'd have thought of, but very interesting all the same.

Perhaps not what the instructions intended but I prefer things to be knock off proof.
This piece of wood was missing too but mine is harder.

Very tight fit without glue

I bought some more mahogany strip wood today . Some in the kit is poor but worse! the box is plenty long enough for parts but they supplied strips not long enough for the hull thus requiring joints

Final piece of cloth.
Probably primer tomorrow. Shape feels good and I doubt much filling will be needed.
This will be dry enough to burn the midnight oil sanding.

I have been sanding all day to the point that I'm satisfied. Not sure when these mahongany trims should be fitted but to me the time is now with CA direct to resin. The longer strips are much better quality than those supplied. This is where I stick my finger tips together  :embarrassed:
