Where is she now ?
« on: September 26, 2007, 10:49:19 pm »

Reading the topic on the Monster Mersey build, reminded me about this picture..
I took this at the Ellesmere show in 2000 (if my camera date is correct), since then I have never seen it at any of the shows I have been to..
Also on the 2nd photo there is someone sitting in one of the lifts.  Is it You !!

it is Arrow 5's boat, and it used to be a recruiting tool for the Royal Navy.

You are mistaken Gary,  the Royal Navy gave it to me for nothing. I havent sold it. It never had a covered wagon, it travels on it`s launching trailer. I dont have a PS ship of any kind...!   She is currently resting in a farm shed for the winter. The cost of transporting her to shows and events is very costly from the north of Scotland. However if anyone is interested in purchasing it .......PM me with the name of your nearest pub and bring your bank manager with you ! ..and if I win the Lotto first I`ll be fitting four gas turbines in it and hire a fleet of 1/24th scale heli pilots ( nubile 20s , female, good looking etc etc) and cruise the Greek Islands or Bahamas. ::)

Back in the 1970s the Navy a small fleet of ships(?) based on canal narow boat hulls which sailed the inland waterways appearing at Boat Rallies etc, Not sure what happened to them.
There was a sub and a frigate could have been another.

Just an update on the manned models site. The new location is at httm://groups.yahoo.com/group/Manned_Model_Ships_International/  Lots of new boats in the works and if you think it is all about LARGE models check out the mad Dutchmen on www.youtube.com/watch?=WoM9LxiupkQ  Fun or what ?  EDIT: seems that is the wrong URL, do a search on youtube for De Minivloot van De Jong ShipArt

They look like great fun but I think our club's committee or the "Fun Police" would have kittens if they saw that on the lake.  >>:-(
