A similar question:  At 1/32 scale I have doors with made-in hinges that must open for access to switches.  What do I do for a door handle that will hold the door closed?

With a bit of imagination: Use a small magnet to hold it shut, leave the porthole empty so you can use a finger to pull it open. Use bent wire, bent both sides of the door or only on the outside with a bit of wood cyano'd or epoxied on the back.  If you've no brass wire, staples or paperclips can always be recycled. Etc etc.

Thanks, RST you got my thinking cap on straight.  I have some " rare earth magnets and steel washers to fit them, from Lee Valley.  I mounted a washer on the door and a magnet on a piece of styrene with CA.  I will use the door's handwheel to grab and open the door.
Works great!   :-))
