Tinned copper wire.
« on: June 03, 2019, 03:22:58 PM »

I am looking for a supplier of very fine tinned copper wire of grades between 32awg and 38awg. Anyone with any ideas.
I did order some from the UK a couple of years ago, but cannot remember the name of the company.
Cheers folks.

I had some from Amazon es a while ago, not certain who the actual supplier was to them.
 I entered

alambre de cobre estaņado
in the search box.

Hello BarryGlad to see you're still very much around. Here's a link to Rapid, who seem to have most of the sizes you need https://www.rapidonline.com/Catalogue/Search?Query=tinned%20copper%20wire

Thanks guys, yes I am still here, building miniatures these days as nowhere to sail the big ones...

Amazon don't have the fine grades I want and Rapid want to sell me too large amounts. Each roll has hundreds of meters of wire on them....The place I bought mine from happily sold me 20 meters wrapped around a card at great prices....I just cannot remember who they were.....Must be an age thing!

Just interested in the intended use for this if you don't mind me asking as it seems a niche product?

I use it to make rigging on my period ship miniatures. Currently building a model of HMS Victory, which is only 5 inches long.
