HI all well ive been pondering over these gears to get some to turn that big 1/16th turret gear ring that will turn the big main 6 inch gun turret an thankfully so far ive got succsses as the SAIL WINCH SERVO works the the turret left an right like a dream an nice an slow as ive set the servo morph at just the right speed  an to self centre as as i had it working from a stick on my T/X but it wont stay there when i let go of the stick it just self centres so to get over this ive fitted it in a different channal in the R/X an this one is worked by a flick on off on switch an this idea works lovley so when i flick the switch up or down the big gearing turns what would be the gun turret shaft an when at the end of travel the wouldbe turret (when built) will stay in that postion till i activate the switch an then it goes back to self centreing so im pleased

AN while i was doin  this  i dint give no thought to how i will get the wires up the shaft to work the small blue micro servo to work the guns barrells to elevate so had a think an thought well i need a centre bolt that has a hole up the centre to take the wires up to the micro servo an i thought right that steel bolt has got to go an the idea ive come up with is a plastic rudder bolt an where the rudder shaft would have gone in the centre hole i can run me wires up that to said servo so that will be done today just got to drill the hole out bigger on my upright drill

here a close up shot of the sailwinch servo gear an the big turret gear an they fit like a glove an works well from left an right to back to self centre an go nice an slow like a big heavy gun turret would turn from my servo morph an its set just right an i was very lucky to get that big turret  gear ring  to fit my gears as it was just a guess off ebay so next up to build the gun turrets them selves so i can fit in that blue micro sevo as they will both work off a double fly lead from one channel on the T/X so so far it all seems to be workin unless muphy law strikes

HI Bob well i like turrets to turn slowy like the big battle ships turrets did an i have achevied that but got a problem with that micro servo when i treid it all out it worked ok but now that little b+gger is playin up by goin into revese when i go just one way on the other way its good so i cant understand why it wont behave itself an yes ive treid other servo an still the same outcome

HI ALL well with some help from the guys in the black arts section ive now got over that sevo prolem as the trouble was that i had set the servo morph to too long a train but now i shorten the train to 90 degrees on left an right an volay it all works ok an im very pleased so now i can start to build the main 6 inch gun turret an fit on the knockon switches that should work the gun fire an gun flash unit an that should be exciting as i love my wireing  :-))

HI Dan nice to hear from you an yes the turret is comin on as this afternoon i fitted a 3mm led in just one gun barrel to see the affect an im pleased to say its looks great all i need now is the gun fire sound unit an then i can really get stuck in on the gun turrets but im not gonna make the 3 inch gun s elevate as not enough room as too small an jen well many thanks for thinking of her Dan but a fair way to go yet im a fraid as in another two wks hopefully she will have her plaster removed an the big stiches out then have xrays to see if its all healing corretly if not then maybe more surgury but i hope not if ok then she will have more plaster an a boot on an then will see from there

an ive just fitted a wire to pull the guns to the elevated postion but it wont work the other way as the servo trys to push the guns down so i'll still be happy to have the guns straight out on the port side
