an ive fitted in the gun barrels the 3mm amber leds to simulate guns flash but these are not very bright as they are on 6v so may try an put 12v to them an they will be a lot brighter

HI Bob no metal linkage will not give as yes one way the servo pulls the guns into the elevated postion but when goin the other way the servo will try to push the linkage forward an push the guns downwards which is no go

...hi sorry to ask but why would your LED's be brighter on 12v compared to 6V?  Looking good otherwise!

Best wishes to Jen.

HI Rich  well on 12v there is twice as much power goin through the leds an ive treid it on some spares led an yes the resistor  gets a bit warm but ive ran it for half an hr so should be ok but  when goin with hopefully the gun fire sound unit the leds will only flash for half a second so no probs

Have you tried using plastic gears with the servo instead of a wire rod . Made this work by using a gearwheel on the pivot cylinder gun assembly and a gear fitted to a servo.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJh35b582sU

HI Ronnie thank you for your reply  but i havnt used a wire rod it just a flexible wire thats elevating the guns an one way only as the other way the servo pushes the guns down hence the flixible wire an got no idea how you did your idea with out some pics
cheers chris

Chris
Confused by the servo pushes the guns down, surly thats what you want isnt it?

I suspect that Roman 42 simply has one gear on the trunnion that meshes with another on the servo, (same as 1/1 set ups) servo gear moves as its meshesd with trunnion gear that rotates thus moving the guns, (trunnion shaft running theough the turret to hold guns)

HI Bob no i dont want the guns pushed down just to elevate an when the servo goes forward the guns fall down to their stops under  their own weight as its brass tube the gun barrells are  an not downwards as you say hope you understand me

Ah got it now, thought you wanted control in elevation and deprrssion with the servo, not using gravity, clear now

Chris
As per your email, hope these help, Chris note the early version has positions for the gun layer port and Starboad, the shots of her at end of life only have the one.  Careful which period you pick
