She's definitely taking shape now and looking like it's going to be a cracker - looking forward to your future updates.  :-)

COR CHEERS Bob  super info picture many thanks :-)) :-)) :-)) im very impressed what a picture wow is it ok to print this picture off  so I can frame it an put it on show for people to see info about the model an the real ship when I put her on display ?.An I only hope I can do justice to this model as its provein very hard to get the hull curves right an some I don't think I can but will see when I F/G her . An im goin to have to go off scale a bit im afraid as Im thinkin of fittin in the hull a bow thruster at the front of the hull as this hull so big the wind catches her very easy  an on our pond when it get busy I will need it for station keepin or I will end up hitting other models an I don't want that.I had to do the same with my Nimitz carrier an it was a blessin to control her easysily  an Bob if poss could you find out which way that radar goes left to right back an forth or up an down  as I would like to get it right I know I wont need it for a fair while but if I see the units to make the radar move how it should do then I can buy the bits

Chris
No prob printing it as it is an RN publicity picture, don’t forget that it is Blake though
Consensus is that radar is fixed and looking at drawings can see no mech for anything. Defo does not rotate, no room

GREAT stuff on the pic  thanks Bob as I will fit it in a nice gold or silver frame  in front of her when on display an I will point out that its blake but as you said they are practicaly twins so no worries on that. But got to build her first I have been today grinding out the hull frames right where the apertures will be a noisey an smelly job but that's been done  usein my Dremel. Now nxt step today is fit in a hard balsa mount  1/2 " thick for the rudder to be  drilled out an mounted on then one day nxt wk it will be F/G time aaaaaaawwwwwaa  NOT LOOKIN FORWARD TO THAT but got to be done.An Bob lookin at my plans an your hull picturs of your tiger  as I have been studyin  them  I see that you hav'nt got on YOUR hull as much armour plate  as my plans show did the R/N remove some at one time ? an regards the radar well I think I wil make it rock from the sides just to make the model more intrestin again cheers for info no doubt i'll be askin again as the model progesses so don't go away  ;) :-)) :-)) :-)) all best

The 278 radar was a height finder is, it would be put on the bearing of the contact in question and then dish would rotate up and down to find the height .
So It did not rotate 360 constantly like a search radar . The same radar was also fitted to the RN county class .

Fitted to the Battle Class Conversions and
The Cathedral Class AD Frigates.
I used to sleep in the 278 office on
Llandaff when we short of space.

My hull has the amount of side armour as per the plans so it might be the angle of the image

AN HI Paul cheers for the info on the 278 radar so it rocked up an down well I think when the time comes I can make it do that on a piston drive an Paul have you any idea if it was a fast rocking motion or slow ?

Tiger crew say not rocking but adjustable for angle as required
As for armour here is a shot of the armour plate on my hull, hope you can see both green tapes showing length of it, fits in with both Jecobin and admiralty drawings
