moveing on i wanted to start to fit detail on the 02 deck behind the bridge but i had to remove the fore mast an to get to the main holding screws i had to use a very long screwdriver that went through all the mast to get to undo the main holding screws an same on the othe side a if you just click on the pic it comes up bigger so more detail can be seen

i joined the RN in 74 Running from Portsmouth, I did the first Commission of the Type 42 Sheffield and the last one of the GMD Fife, i may well have seen Tiger or Blake in Chatham
Went in to Subs 1980 and the rest of my career was running from Scotland, did 8 years on Odin, 2 years on Churchill  (refit - scrapped from under my feet), 8 years on Repulse taking her to scrap, took HMS Sceptre to Refit in Rosyth and i retired in 1998
9/11 happened and i went back in and did another 10 years, taking Sceptre back out of refit, and then time on Vanguard, nearly all my Sub career was in Scotland,
That pretty well cover 34 years of my life, high must have been during my time on Repulse, lows would be Vanguard, the RN had changed for the worse IMHO but being aged 50 i had my day

just been reading some of the random posts on your build, then decided to read from the start, you have put a lot of work into this, wish i had started my GMD Fife now rather than selling it partly completed, with much more time on my hands it could have done a much better job, however the new owner has now completed it
this is the fleetscale 1/72

HI Kevin oh that looks nice HMS FIFE in 1/72 that would have been a super model if you had completed it as thats one thing ive never done an thats start a ship build an then sell it not finished
as ive built about 7 or 8 big models now over the yrs an finished them all as for me its all im really instrested in as i dont like sport so i dont watch much tv for me its the building an creating the ship to the finish that matters as they are very exspensive aer'nt they ?
an my wife jen also spurs me on an yes we have our lives by goin out togeather but as soon as i can im at the tiger build as in my opinion if you dont build it it wong get built will it as at the  moment im havin some probs on her an that tryin to get the things i need due to this bloomin corvid an any chance of a pic from her new owner as you say she is completed now ?
all best to you
chris ps she's a county class destroyer isnt she ?

no he isnt, he did a lot of the electrics, but the rest of the build was completed by a friend of his, it was due to have its first sail early this year, but the plague got in the way

i belong to several sites it was on MSW and facebook he contacted me and asked if i considered selling, ii turned him down several times, but to be honest, i was building it as a static, and felt he would put her to better use, as there are not many 1/72 GMD on the display circuit and i wanted to build the St Nectan by Montfleet models, yet again my build log of that was quite poor on here

my log of the Victory isnt on here at all

sorry for the loss of your friend, yes it is the Caldercraft kit, and yes its a big outlay, but with over 3000 hours, spread over 7 years, well worth the cost, the new Amati version at 1/64 designed by Chris Watton, and at present being built by James Hatch, is going to be far better, the cost will be higher, but rumours are of it being available in 3 parts like the Amerigo Vespucci, which i also have on the go

If that's aimed at me and not chris   ;D  - she's finished and test tank tested, just not been for her maiden voyage, though the way things are going at work, I might be able to spend more time building the other projects whilst looking for a job  >:-o
