HI ALL
ANOTHER small update as if i try an load to many linkpics at a time my pc crashes
so the first linkpic up today is an old pic showing that i built the ventilation grills with streakes plasticard to represent the vents but now i have decided to fit in the steam unit well the plasti card bottom right lower corner will have to be cut out so i can fit some real ventilation grills in

now in the main S/S behind the vent grills there will be two x 40mm fans one will suck air in a downtake to the small fan in the steam unit to help blow out the steam as the pipe to an up the funnell will be about 7inches long an the other fan will be to cool the radar motor gearbox when in a model show as it may be running for a few hrs

Now here ive done some major surgery with the ole dremel an dimond cutter so i can fit in the steam pipe which will connect up with the steam unit an go to the front funnell an this all must be dead on fit as the main s/s will be needed to lift on an off to fit in the main drive batt

An now comes the hard part   which im doin today ive cut out the hole so i can get my hand in the main S/S to line up an cut the STEAM pipe to size so that when i fit on the S/S its should just drop right onto the the steam units steam pipe
an if you look inside the steam unit can be seen to nr line up but its not right yet an i think this is goin to be a right pig to get right but will see how it all goes

{-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) HI Bob very funny  {-) an it gave me a good gigle but im no rivet counter so no way the funnels will have all their big ladders an the other main things  but then im stoppin there but a question please can you tell me what are all them ring thingys at the funnels top ? is it for the painter to hang their ropes from  to paint the funnels ?
hope you both are well

Glad it made you laugh, The RN model does not have them and I did not either, but there is  a 1/72 Tiger out there were the guy has put the rivets in, but in doing so has spoilt it, becaue scale wise they must be about a foot wide, if you work it out 1/72 scale rivets heads are not a very big.

It always amazes me how complicated funnels are! I put a link to a you tube video somewhere else on MBM showing them firing up a destroyer in ww2. This had great info on funnel details and actual uses for a few items.

Tiger continues to get better and betterer  :-))

AN IT WAS A BATTLE to get the funnel pipe to match up to the steam unit pipe as it had to be dead on if not the S/S wont fit down how it should do but i managed in the end
