Just a little difficult to understand how this form of pollution could have been left un-cleaned  >>:-( on a Vessel whilst in a Commissioned role

So can only assume the image is of the Vessel in a de-Commissioned state?...

Having said this, I do not understand the source or type of contamination/polution [fluid?] over the vertical structure siding below??

Obviously hydraulic fluid leakage when they removed the lattice crane and other issues when not being in use i.e. awaiting to be scrapped  :embarrassed:

Derek
Just looking at the image shows it is not in commission and the marks are from cutters torches, this/was HMS Blake being cut for scrap.

Steady wins the race! That looks a fine piece of work, and I like the planning you have done for transport. One less thing to get stuck in the roof of the car/low hanging branch at the lake side/floppy jumper sleeve!!!

I know you have done the decals now so by all means ignore me, but if you spray the areas you are applying decals with gloss varnish, it prevents silvering caused by the decal backing trapping squillions of air bubbles as found in the gaps between the matt paint particles.

The Pennant numbers won't suffer as there's no backing :)

mmmmmmmmmm... >>:-( difficiult to find the correct adjective for the word 'fine'........ 'fineness' would not pass the Pub Test'

....filigree is not applicable for such light & fragile brass lattice type work *&(*&*^^%%^ ...as the elements lose their fragility when assembled

Excellent result :-)) .....will need just the lightest whisper of paint :P to maintain the delicate structure :-))   [or is it delicateness?]
