HI ALL well i think i can now upload some link-pickeis
an first off a shot of the R/X an to show ive nearly used up all the plugs for servos funtctions as no 2 will be to work gun turrets an the last 3 plugs well ?
an i fitted everything on the ship ive made work so far but abit of a dissapointment as even though ive fitted on BIG SLA  12V 12AMP HR BATTERY with everything goin it only ran for about 10 mins so may be a bad batt but will try another today if i can an if still the same then i will have to cut back on some things but first i will diconnect the small 6v fans as they are not really nessacery an see if that make any difference

an here main eletrics bay to work all things like lights an servos an such but i may do away with the one on the right as its only got 2  x 12v things runing off an the 3 other switches dont power anything yet an now wont   so if i remove it that will save a servo power on that one

Sorry the pic was not clearer, but it was a foggy day the old girl was towed out of Portsmouth for razor blades. I took it from the office on flag staff jetty one up from South Railway Jetty.

HI Doades cheers for the pic i think some one else posted the same pic further back in the build never can have enough pics thank you for posting this but its a sad day for her to be scrapped but by gum she was big wasnt she an so is my tiger model in 1/72 semi scale  a real cracker of a ship an im still trying to work out my power problem but made a start at one trouble point  so that may be the cause but will keep at it till it all runs for at least a half an hr if that happens then i will be happy with the model but there is a lot of workings items

Wish all the best, always thought that class was probably the best looking and with her advanced gyro stabilised guns probably the best light cruiser built in this country.

Iv'e just read the history of her and it was most interesting what with the automatic 6inch guns being unreliable (obviously taken into account when designing and building the 4.5inch guns) and the squabbles over her completing and rebuilding.

The image looks better in that misty style. She is a huge ship ad looks much more imposing through the murk!

Remember my long time dead brother who was in the Andrew telling me as a youngster, that her 6" guns used to quiver when in use to maintain range due to ship movement. An old friend of mine served as a gunner on her and he said that with the 3" guns, they could jam when in auto and you had to fist punch the shells to maintain loading, said it was a bit hairy but that was it. Also they reckon that when in auto the the guns could empty the 3" mags in about 20 mins such was their rate of fire, probably explains why those guns were not extended to new builds.

Re the guns, they were never 100% successful but when they worked they were awesome, if you search you tube for "navy gets Tiger) it shows the "3 giving it stick.
Chris, think you must have a dodgy battery as the pwer drain would only affect you if you left all items runing all the time, which you never are going to do are you?.  The only time I have had similar it was always batts, and the new electronic stuff really draws neglible power so batt first..

I can see why you had to make the hull in two sections. Can’t wait for you to post her sea trails photos.

Very nice build Chris. :-))

HI ALL WELL regards my power shortage an after some testing found that problem is mine as when i was wirein up this ship a few wks ago i had this eye op on my mind alot an not thinking clearly so i found when runnig it that the front 12v down to 6v voltage reducer was getting quite hot an when i checked the wireing i found that i had made a classic mistate as this unit should just have been wired up to work THE R/X an  10 servos well some how i wired it up so that it worked all the 6v things in the whole ship an it was over loading an cuttin out due to a thermal coutout in the unit  so this is my fault so i set it to rights an now i have fitted in a new 12 down to 6v reducer an it all ran fine friday night had nr everthing goin  for half an hr an it only used not qiute one volt from the batt so im pleased
so a couple of linkpics to show the new unit fitted an wired in to work all the lights an hanger bay
