Statistically most model boaters are of the age where their productive efforts are more likely to involve spending their time building and sailing model boats then engaging in activities more likely to boost the population.

In addition almost no CO2 is generated in most building techniques or materials.

The moral therefore is more boating less bonking.

One good thing for the planet coming up - because of the indiscriminate use of antibiotics we have bred many types of superbugs . Antibiotics are likely to become ineffective in the next 20years . When I was a child you stayed in bed when you got ill - usually for a couple of weeks before you got better - if you got better of course......... The idea now seems to be we pop a pill for two days and then go back to work- very useful for the economy and business.
The chances are that the human population will drop dramatically when antibiotics fail - which of course is just what the planet needs - which governments are all to aware of but too frightened to admit - after all they want to be re-elected don't they. There are simply too many people for the world to cope with and the main cause of global warming is not the passing of wind by cattle as some scientists claim but  simply overpopulation by the human race.
If that's not enough there is also a prediction that insect life will largely die out - no pollination - no crops and mass starvation
