Help finding a supplier please!
« on: June 23, 2019, 07:44:51 pm »

Hi all,

I am looking for some Aluminium in the following sizes

- 6mm or 1/4" square tube
- 6mm x 12mm or 1/4" x 1/2" solid rectangle section.

I see Cornwall models sell exactly what I need but only in 12 inches so I know this stuff exists! Its the square tube that I am struggling to find. K&S metals supply Cornwall and can sell up to 36" in one cut.

Here is the issue, I need 2 meters of it, does anyone know of anywhere I could get this from? I have looked high and low but am at a loss..

Cheers

Try here ... https://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/
They should have both sizes, if not they will cut it for you.

That is a metre length.
Me3 needs 2 metre lengths
hence the problem.

Generally they don't sell more than 1 metre due to the difficulty of packing something so easily bent in transit. Shipping costs go right up

Prob a daft question but does the tube need to be continuous or could you join two lengths of 1m with a length of 4mm tube or rod, assuming a wall thickness of 1mm?

Hi, not a daft question at all, ideally I need it to be hollow all the way through as I will be running cables down it. I think the company linked on eBay by 'Plastic' will sell up to 2 meters in length and are around the corner from me!
