Help needed with TX & RX
« on: July 01, 2019, 08:34:15 pm »

Hi,
I have purchased a beautiful 1/12: Severn but as I have been out of the R/C game quite a while I am struggling somewhat. I have replaced the RX with my L9R and binded it to my Taranis X9D. I could only get the bow jets to work. Nothing else seemed to work. It’s quite advanced and has a sound module in it as well which the chap had cleverly managed to have it turn on while applying throttle but now everything’s in a complete mess. Is there anyone who may be able to help me? Is it a case of plugging in one channel at a time and assigning it to the X9D?
Thanks,
Matt

You say you have been out the RC game for a while, the taranis is a fully programable radio and as no channels preset have you setup an new model and have you at least got 4 channels configured.
I know this is mainly to do with drones but this guy explaines the taranis setup very well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azs1wmr4c7w

It’s annoying as there is no proper instructions manual. Will google how to configure channels on the TX.

You can do so much with your radio I would get bored reading any manual that covers it, google is your friend., I have switches that disengage the motors telemetry on batteries voltage per cell sound track for engine on engine off and so on.  These days for boats I use the Flysky i6x does everything I want and the receivers are a lot cheaper.

Sounds fantastic. Not wishing to sound a complete noob, it’s gonna be a job deciphering which connectors into the rx go where. It’s like spaghetti junction  {-)

Search youtube for "Taranis X9D", there are lots of guides there
