Help to identify this hull
« on: July 28, 2019, 04:08:17 pm »

Hi folks, I'm wondering if anyone can recognise what vessel this grey lady is supposed to be. Not much up top at the moment but I'm sure some surgery can fix that once I know what she is. %)

Cheers Rob

No idea as to real identity but looks a bit like a semi scale mine hunter/sweeper type of ship.
Just a guess at the moment.

If the pennant number is significant (634) there was a Buckley class destroyer USS Whitehurst🤔

Could try other nations pennant numbers of course.

Ray.

I think Raflaunches is correct.Between the RN and the USN, there were plenty of examples to choose from.

Certainly looks like some kind of mine warfare ship.  Check out Nav Source http://www.navsource.org/archives/11/02idx.htm  They have a lot of pics of American and some British types and browsing there is also interesting.

Aye I thought she looked like a minesweeper but the pennant didn't seem to match anything with a bluff stern. Thanks guys will take a look and hopefully strike lucky.

I first thought with one eye closed an Algerine at a passing glance, but not convinced it fits anything 100% looking at it.
